HOTEL-RESTAURANT PERLA, Mamaia: One step closer to protection
Today, we can share a piece of news that matters a lot to those who love modernist architecture by the seaside: the plenary session of the National Commission for Historical Monuments voted to classify the Hotel Perla in Mamaia as a historical architectural monument, value group A.
It is also the result of considerable efforts by the Docomomo Romania team. We supported the Constanța County Directorate for Culture by preparing the cultural evaluation study and the analytical inventory sheet, and by supporting them in the Zonal Commission, at the Evidence Section, and before the CNMI Plenary.
It is not the end of the road — the file is now on its way to the signature of the Minister of Culture. But for the Hotel Perla, a symbol of Romanian post-war modernism, we can now say there is hope that it will be recognized and protected.
We thank all those who believed in and supported this endeavor.
